How do you feed Silversides?

The package says to feed frozen or thaw but dot not thaw in water??

don't thaw them in water like your tank because they are very oily its better to while frozen break off the needed amount of them then thaw them in a floating in a plastic baggie in a separate cup of warm water

I just break off a chunk and thaw it in some tank water. I have not seen any ill effects from this. I dont understand why you would thaw them in a seperate container, they go right into the tank anyways.
