RO water

One quick question.

Last night i was at a LFS and on the shelf i saw (2) 1 gallon jugs of Ro water. what is the reason for buying this? i hear a lot of people talk about RO/DI water but never saw it for sale on a shelf before.

can anyone explain?

a couple threads running right now on RO/DI filters and water. check them out - your questions should be answered there. pay particular attention to AZDesertRat's input
