I think it would be fine because they stay relatively small.

I have keep these shrimp in the past, I had a mated pair that would frequently have fry, anyway I was told they are not reef safe? So choice of corals might be a concern. Feeder stars can cost up to 10-15.00 per star. But they seem to do well in tank. I had mine with angles and tangs in a fish only tank.

A girl I know keeps a chocolate chip star in her fuge and she breaks off a piece of it to feed it.
I don't know why, but it kinda creeps me out!LOL They are pretty cool though.

They are reef safe except sea stars (and rare reports of other echinoderms being eaten).

They are reef safe as SDguy says. They are really cool, especially if you have a pair. The strategy of keeping stars in a refugium and cutting of a leg every couple of weeks will work.

In theory, the star will grow it back. In practice, I wouldn't use a linkia...they are touchy enough as is. And for it to work, you'll have to rotate between several CC stars. I just throw in a whole CC star about once every 3-4 weeks. Probably more like three if you have a pair.

however, (surprised no one pointed this out), eating a sea star produces a LOT of waste, and unless you have some major filtration on that pico, i would NOT recommend harlequins in that small of a tank.

Actually, that's the weird part. The CC star stays alive the entire time it's being eaten. I never see any rotting tissue/decaying soft tissue whatsoever. Just the hard white "balls" remain.
Though I agree, just noticed the tank size. I would not do these shrimp in a 5g pico.
