sump location
For the past year or so I have had my sump behind my tank out of the stand for easy access. I am starting to have some issues with to much moisture in the air and there is some occasional splashing from the sump leaving salt everywhere.
Do most of you have your sumps in your stand? I am thinking about putting mine back under my stand and putting an access cover on the back of the stand. I am assuming this should help with the high humidity. Also do you keep your sump covered or open? For those of you with a sump out in the open like mine, what do you do for humidity? By the way my tank is 150 gallon acrylic with a 24 x 20" sump. |

My sump is in a closet next to my tank, it's 20 gal. Both tank and sump are open. We keep a window cracked in the same room as the tank to keep humidity down. Also have a fan running to circulate air.

By the way the closet has lovered doors, so any humidity comes into the tank room.
