closed loop ???

I have a 110 gallon aquarium 4'x2'x22" and I was planing on setting up a closed loop using a mag 12 and 2 x 3/4" sea swirls.... My question is would it be better to set it up with 2 x 1" drains or 1 x 1.5" drain ... also where would it be best to place the drains in the middle or closer to the bottom?

Thanks
Ben

Here's the best resource I found for ideas on how to build a closed loop system over on Melev's website

The single 1.5" intake will flow better.

You will definately want more flow than a MAG12 will give you. I have a Sequence Snapper (2500 gph) running CL on a 90g, and it is just enough flow.

You could probably use something like the Sequence Dart (3600 gph). It is more money, but well, well worth it. The MAG pump are so-so for a closed loop pump.

I should also mention that I have eight outlets on my Snapper, which divides the flow to each outlet quite a bit. You can get away with a lower output pump if you don't have quite so many outlets. I recommend at least four though, or two if they swirl.
