More stuff

So i have a canister filter and good lighting and a fuge - what shuld i get next - A RO/DI machine - Skimmer - Uv sterilizer or other - somebody healp me - and remember im poorish i can get MH lighting or expensive things like that.

If youre wanting to keep anything other than fish, I would ditch that canister filter. You will have good filtration with live rock, a skimmer, and a fuge. I would get the skimmer or ro/di before getting a UV sterilizer. I dont have one, and Im doing great without it.

Whats wrong with a canister filter - that seems so backwards to me - but hey im new

For these filters to be effective they must be frequently cleaned, to avoid the decomposition of waste in the water stream. And that leads to high nitrates and other water problems. Theyre pretty high maintenance, but maybe someone that uses one without a problem can chime in.
