Too many pods/bugs?
I have a 12 gallon nanocube about 3 months old. I have a small refugium in the middle back chamber and a shallow sand bed. About 12 lbs of live rock.
My glass is COVERED with pods and other little bugs. In a 1" x 1" square there are anywhere from 3 to 15 little critters, ALL over the glass. They are also covering the back wall. Day and night they are all over the place. Clownfish doesnt even look at them. There are literally so many of these little critters that I need to sweep them away with the cleaning magnet. I dont think this is a bad thing...but could it be? Thanks! |

nope i dont think too many pods are a bad thing. But at the same time, there are also Pod Population Booms, their population even with out predation from common pod eating fish, mandarins, six lines, etc. They are beneficial to both fish and corals. If you do find them a nusiance go and get a six line, rather than a mandarin.

Pods come and go during times of feast and famine. Don't worry about sudden population explosions, nature will take care of it. There are many critters hiding in your LR that are happy right now because of the huge buffet.
