Another ro/di question

Where i live we have very low water pressure. Will this affect a ro/di unit ? If so do some units work better than others ?

Are you on city or well water? You ma need to get a booster pump.

We are on city water we just have low pressure. Do you know the minimum pressure needed?

I am on well water and I use a booster pump @ 60-80 psi with good results. before I had the booster It would take a week to fill a 30 gallon tank! After the booster 1 day.

Thanks reefrottie. I haven't bought a ro/di yet. But I may check on a booster pump also. I am guessing they will work on low pressure, but it takes a lot longer to make water.

They will operate OK at a reduced pressure of about 40 psi. Keep in mind though temperature also affects output so if you have both low pressure and low temperature you may get low production. When you say low pressure what do you consider low? It might be worth picking up a pressure gauge and faucet adapter at HD or Lowes to see what you really have available.
Here is a link to Dow Filmtecs graphs that show the effects of temp and pressure on output. Most units use the 75 GPD RO membrane so I would follow that line.

Thanks AZDesertRat. I will get a pressure guage and adapter and check. My pressure just seems a lot lower than at my mom's house or at work, but I've never checked it.
