Stinky, Stinky sulfer!
I know that I have to replace the membrain in my RO/DI unit this month but i was wondering what the problems of adding salt water with the horrible smell of sulfer in my tank. As of now the water from my well goes through a sediment filter than a carbon filter than a water softner than my RO/DI unit than into my 40g water change container. when i filled it yesterday i noticed that it stunk of rotten eggs..Is sulfer bad? I dont see anything good or bad here at RC.

That smell is H2S(hydrogen sulphide) it can sufforcate animals and kill fish. I would not add it to an aquarium. Especially if doing large water changes.
