Question I am considering a blue throat trigger....

Does anyone have any knowledge or experienced opinion to share with me on this fish in my reef? I am intrigued by this "reef safe" trigger.............

They are considered reef safe, but grow up to 12 inches. It's hard to find one that is smaller than 4" or so too. If you have a big tank, it might worth it.

I have one and so far he has definitely been "reef safe." Very cool fish, although mine seems to be a little timid.

I have had one for a few months, even though I don't have a lot of corals, there is enough in the tank he could mess with, so far he has been a model citizen. He was extremely shy at first, hiding most of the time, but as he got hungrier he is now one of the more aggressive feeders and has joined the general population... There are 4 shrimp in the tank he has not even looked at them the wrong way... Yet..

I've had mine 2 years..(almost)...

As people said, they are very shy especially at first... Though they do like to eat (mines a pig and eats everything including nori).

He has not messed with anything yet (but when first added he sometimes chases smaller fish... probably thinks they are food)... once established he leaves them alone.

Pics can be seen here: http://www.danj.com/reef/fish_detail.php?fish_id=3
