I just got a new rs-80 skimmer and their isn't room in my sump for it. I am going to take a five gallon bucket and drain my overflow into it, and out of it into my sump. Are uniseals the best way to do this, and can i get them at lowes? Or is thier a simpler way to do this? Thanks

Well if it's the only way you can do it for now... Go to the feed store and grab a feed bucket with a flat side and then use a bulkhead. It's what I did for my temporary fuge.

If you want a rounded side to seal then a uniseal is what you want. I have never seen them at any hardware store and have always ordered mine online.

I made my own bulkhead with PVC and the some of the rubber grommet things in the plumbing section at lowes. Works well enough. Just to save you the trouble you can't glue or silicon HDPE (what a good portion of the cheap plastic buckets are made from).

I've used regular bulkhead fittings many times on buckets. The buckets are pliable enough to flatten out when you tighten the fitting.

UniSeals available at one of this site's sponsors should fix you right up.

I ran a couple bulkheads into a Homer bucker from Home Depot. I just shaved off a little of the ribs that go around the bucket, to allow the sides to flatten a little when I put the bulkheads on. Didn't have any problems.
