Where do mount my new t-5 ballast?
I just purchased a tek t-5 2x39w retro from reefgeek to go in my wood hood. I was wondering where the best place to mount the ballast is? I have my Ice cap 660 mounted remotely, down in my stand, but i'm not sure the Advance ballast is made to be "remote" like that. I don't think i want it inside the hood itself because i have no glass tops and i would imagine the moisture can't be good for it. Any suggestions??
thanks

I mounted mine to the back of my canopy. You can mount them remotely under the tank, but I wanted to be able to take the canopy off entirely and not worry about disconnecting the ballast from the fixtures.

I'll probably end up doing the same. I want to wait and see if anyone else chimes in on this.

Thanks for all the input so far guys!
Hay dc_909, do you know if you loose any power at all by running it that far from the lights? Thats my only concern, and thanks for the pic!

Im not sure. They don't give any info when you buy the package, but I would assume that they would give you a waringing or give less wire if that was the case. I would say you don't want to go any longer than the wire provided. They seem to work great so far (2 months)
