Anyone want to help me set-up my first external skimmer?

I have no camera. Just thought i'd put that out there.

I received a new skimmer today but the builder is busy. I've been skimmerless on my sps reef for almost a week and would like to get this thing glued up and ready to go hopefully for tomorrow.

It seems simple enough, but would like to be 'right'. It's a typical recirc. using uniseals and a drain feed nipple.

If anyone has a little time and patience i have a few questions.

O.K.

1. I have 45's and 90's that fit on the pvc extending into the main body on both input and output of recirc pump and for drain feed line. Do these need to be glued?

2. On the outside, the drain feed line is a nipple threaded into a union which is glued to a piece of pvc that then extends through uniseal into main body chamber. The union and the threaded nipple just need teflon correct?

3. No glue needed for uniseals and the pvc pieces through them in the three holes?

1)I'm not 100% sure if you need to glue the 45's/90's. It sounds like you should have to or they will leak though. Do the directions say anything about the pieces at all?

2)Teflon tape is all you need.

3)Don't glue any of that.

No directions and i'm sure he'll call this weekend, but i'm trying to get it going by tomorrow. On one side better safe than sorry and glue them on...on the other side if i glue them they are permanent in their output direction.
