Using Distilled Water
Have a 29 gallon tank, and have quit using Tap water
I KNOW Big mistake, has been fueling huge algae outbreaks went to the grocery store and bought 5 gallons worth of Distilled water to start changing out the water Will Distilled Water ALONE be sufficient in not providing a source of Phosphate? Or Is Reverse Osmosis necessairy? |

distilled water can still have dissolved solids. usually less than a few ppm.
an RO system will save you a lot of money if you are planning on buying water from the grocery store. |

i use distilled water bought from walmart. you will see a noticable change once the tap is being taking out and distilled taking over.

Distilled water tests 0 tds, my RO water tests 2ppm tds, RO/DI=0 tds. I think it should be fine. Especially compaired to tap.

Do you still need to add seachem prime to distilled water?
