Fish missing
Firefish hasn't been seen in over a day: never missed a meal before. No evidence it jumped out of the only opening available, in the back of the tank; wasn't visibly sick, and it wasn't being targeted by anyone else. So, assuming that it died, does the ecosystem "process" the remains or do I go looking for him in the spaces of my live rock to try to "fish" it out? I've lost a hermit crab and a snail over the recent weeks, but this is the first fish.

If you find it dead, remove it - the decaying fish will add ammonia to your tank.
If you can't find it, and you think it's dead, your cleanup crew will take care of it. Best case scenario - the next time you look at your tank you see it coming out of it's new hiding place! |

Fish Stuck?
Okay, I searched HARDER and found him in one of my Marshall Island LR. He looks like he is stuck in a "tube" of the rock. I can see it's tail through one side hole and his gills moving from another. Any chance it got itself in there and can't back out?
