Best process for removing salt creep off tank top?
I have an acrylic tank with two covers I don't use. I need to get the salt creep from water drips off the top of my tank. Should I put the covers on, wipe the top with a mixture of warm water and vinegar (or anything)? Or just use warm water? I don't want to create any noxious/dangerous fumes for my fish, but I also want to get the salt off.
Thanks |

Yep, I just use a damp paper towel. Works fine.

lucky all you need is a wet towel. I have some salt creep in my sump that will take a chisel to take off! I should of taken care of it before it got too bad.

Water and a washcloth.

Have any of you tried to use that stuff they sell in stores called "salt creep eliminator"?
Any luck with that? |

I use straight vinegar. Let it soak for a min or two and then wipe with heavy rag. Repeat if necessary.

Hey Criminal, didn't know that. My Mag sticks around 1250-1300 using the Salifert test. It has been at that level for years. Most of my salt creep is in the sump where the water empties from the main tank.
