poxy safe for skimmer collection cup?

I needed to seal up a hair size hole in the collection cup of my skimmer. Hardware store was closed today for easter so I got some power poxy from walgreens. It was stated as water resistant and salt air resistant as well as ok for glass and plastics. But it smells like some strong profanity removed super glue. Anyone know if I profanity removed up by using this stuff?

If it's the collection cup, it won't touch the water and you definitely won't have a problem, but I doubt it would matter anyways, considering we use super glue gel for glueing pieces of coral to rock.

it's the bottom of the collection cup so it will touch the bubbles and possibly be slightly exposed to the water going back into the tank.

I had the same problem and I used plumbers goop. I let it cure and de-stink itself for 24 hours prior to using it again.
