FW algae, how do i manage it?

So my GF has a 5.5 gallon FW tank w/ 2 molly's in it. I finially got the water not to be cloudy (with the help of an RC member).
we currently have 2 FW snails in the tank but the algae seems to be growing faster than they can eat. What is a good solution for alge on the rocks and glass?
when i was little i had one of thoes sucker fish...will that work? tank too small for that?
any advice would be great..
Tim

Try ro/di water, the phosphates in tap water effect FW and SW in the same manner. TinMan
