EVC Tech Bulb
Could someone give me some feedback on the 14k EVC Tech bulb? Are they any good? Maybe some pics if anyone is using them? How are they on PAR also?

me and my buddy have been using them for over a year. i personally like them. they were however for both of us on 55g tanks and they did well for growing sps, lps, and softies at almost all depths.(softies didnt like the top of the tank...to bright) im currently in the process of upgrading to a 210g and im gonna go to 10k with some actinic t5s. good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
I ordered one because I saw a post in RC months ago mentioning that they have good PAR. But not sure how they looked. More white like Hamilton or bluer like Phoenix bulbs? Im still waiting on the bulb to show up.

My EVC 14K was bluer than the Phoenix bulb I am running now.
Growth seems better with the Phoenix too. Hope that helps.

Finaly got it. The bulb is definetly a more blue 14k bulb but I can tell the "brightness" of the bulb is much more than the 20k Ushio bulb I was using. I'll see in a week or so after it burns in to see what it looks like. So far so good, hopefully coral will grow a little faster now.

I run the EVC tech bulbs in the 14k SE 250w variety. They are the perfect MH bulb for running without actinics. I've tried many and can't find a better one.

Here is a rather crappy picture of my old nano w/ 250w evc 14k.
I really didn't care for this bulb. It honestly was kinda bland. I wouldn't buy it again. JMO.
