upgrade advise

I'm about to upgrade from a 3-yr old 55 gal to a 120g.

I am hesitant to transfer water from my 55 to the 120 because my 55 has every kind of nuisance algae and flatworms.

Do I go ahead and just start from scratch?

Or algae and/or flatworms are just part of a reef and that I cannot eliminate them - just control them?

Also, how far apart (time-wise) do I stock the 120g with my fishes. Like one fish a week?

Lastly, I have a RBTA. When should I put him in the 120g?

I think you should first try to find out whats causing th algae in your current tank, and try to get it under control and then move the stuff into the larger tank.

I second this. Algae is there becuase you've got a ntrient problem.

I'd use flat worm exit or something along those lines to get rid of the flatowrms.

I would have to agree with the above, you'll need to use the old tank to seed the new, so unless you find resolve for the existing problems , you'll be seeding your new tank with the pre-existing conditions both good and bad alike .....
The problems you face is not only in your water , but your LR and DSB as well...
