Ball valve in water?
Hi, i just bought a 1 1/2 in ball valve from home depot and was wondering can i hook it up straight to the outlet of my quietone 9000 pump that will be in sump? or must the ball valve be out of the water to be useful?

They're made out of PVC and have no metal parts. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't work just fine submerged.

hmm ok, yeah i was thinking the same thing. but not sure if there was like a problem with water surrounding it. its just that i see people always having them up and out of the water and not actually in the sump water

I have a ball valve on the discharge from my skimmer and it is under water. The only bad thing is that my hand gets wet when I adjust the skimmer. Other than that it works fine.
