The turn of VHO

I have a 96" or 8 foot VHO light that run 2 bulbs. I would like to turn into a 36'' 4 bulb. Would this be a problem or can it be done. Mainly useing the ballast.

depends on ballast......better off just buying new.

What type of ballast is it?
You may be able to reuse the ballast and the endcaps and just shorten the distance between the endcaps.
Once you know the ballast type you can go to the manufactures website and look at their application and wiring diagrams.
That should let you know if you can reuse and not just throw away what you have.
