Help!!! Bugs In Tank
I Just noticed literally thousands of 1mm long bugs in my tank. After inspecting some red algae sheets that we put in the tank a couple of days ago, I found these things in the package as well. They seem to be concentrated anywhere there is green algae deposits. Any clues anyone!?!?

congratulations.
 You've got pods. A lot of reefers buy them for their usefulness as detritivores and fishfood.

Sounds suspect that you would find any living thing in a package of nori sheet. Here's a FAQ about copepods and the like.

Yeah weird.. I doutb it would survive saltwater condition if it was in dried nori..

I assumed it was a pack of fresh seaweed. Nori is the red seaweed Porphyra that's been dried & toasted so it shouldn't have any live animals with it unless some food weevils or flies got into the package.

I don't think they came from the packet of nori: that may have had bugs. The simultaneous appearance of copepods likely is coincidence not unrelated to your feeding greens, which they eat.

those are copepods. same species just males and females. the white clumps on the tails of the pods are egg sacks.
