New Tank Ideas????
I am leaving for college next year and along with it my 115 gallon reef tank! . I will be moving into an apartment with a decent amount of space and I'm looking to plan a new tank of some sorts. I was wondering if anybody has any interesting suggestions for what sort of tank to set up! I'm thinking along the smaller side (30 or less possibly). I was considering everything from a nano aquarium set up to a seahorse and pipefish tank. Is there any other interesting smaller setups out there? I'm just looking for any and all opinions so feel free to let out your creativity!

I just picked up a cool 24x18x18 tank that's right around 35g. Great size.

Just throwin it out there... if I had to 'consolidate' I would most likely make a frag tank... something like 48"x48"x10" high, and hang a single halide over it. You might consider the same... to me its all about the corals, so I would can the rest and keep a propigation of corals. Maybe a 33L with a single halide on a light mover or something like that.
I dig the long and narrow 33L. You could do pipefish/seahorses with that. |

What kind of corals would go well and look good in a pipefish/seahorse tank? I know they liek to hitch and cannot live with corals with stinging tentacles so what would work well?

All corals have stingers... its just a matter of how powerful.
Id do a SPS tank. Pipefish can actually tolerate pretty high flow... they can hang on to branches with their tails... so then SPS would be a way to go... |

Use a hang-on protein skimmer for sure. JD
