skin disease on tang?
i got a large yellow tang from my LFS and hios skin looked O.K. but freinds have told me they have very delicate skin and if they contract any small disease thwey can give it to the rest of the tank....saything to worry about?

well any fish could spread any disease.thats why you should qt it first befor putting it in main tank.
i havent heard that about the skin of anyellow tang.people on reef central is there any truth in this

As long as your tang is healthy and not in a stressful environment then you should be ok. Some tangs tend to be more susceptible to ick so you should monitor it. Do you have any pics?

All fish have a slimecoat wich helps with there health. And small hearts and are subsaptible to stress related injurys. Qt is best but whene adding new stock turn lights off and be sure there is plenty on hiding spots for all fish. Its also best to add your least aggrisive fish first to lower stress level in the tank.
