Tank drilled will the hole lfs drilled work?
Just wondering if this is going to work. It seems like the job was screwed up and they covered up their blunder by putting the bulkhead over it which made me not notice until I got home to paint the tank. Will this work, is it that bad?

I don't have much experience with drilling, but I would say that the crack at the bottom would worry me more than the rough edge of the hole.
I'm sure you'll get some more insightful comments here.

yah, you can always seal the rough edges with a sealant so long as it is mostly snug.
The crack is mutch more concerning. I'd brace it somehow if it was to be used. |

I wouldn't even think about it dude. They obviously tried to cover it up. Take it back immediately.

Man that looks pretty shady to me. Personally I wouldnt trust it.
Kinda off topic but is that an acrylic or glass tank? |

I would take it back. The crack will spread and the tank could blow out. Just curious, what size tank? I would make them replace it.

It looks more like a scratch then a crack to me.

The area I am pointing to is a very thin sheet of glas as opposed to the clear clean cut from the rest. The tank is a 30 gallon long. It was purchased at one store and then drilled at another.

If it is just rough around the edges you should be able to seal it with silicone. You might be able to file it down if you have fine round files. Just don't ding the scratch and it should be fine.

That looks similar to the first time a ever tried drilling a hole in glass. Pretty bad.
It should still work though. As long as your bulkhead gasket has a quarter inch or so of flat surface contact around the perimeter, you should be fine. Don't use any silicon. That will increase your chances of a leak, IME. |

I have drilled a few holes and that hole looks pretty normal, without a drill press its impossible to get it perfect.
Once the bulkhead is in place use silicone around the edges of the bulkhead(not under the gasket) |
