Aqua C Remora Help

I just bought a used Aqua C Remora skimmer with the Maxi Jet 1200 pump. It didnt come with instructions. It is putting out alot of microbubbles. Is there a way to adjust it?

Thanks

there is some blue media that you can get and put it in the outtake part of the skimmer to cut down microbubbles, but it minimizes skimming, I preffer MB than less skimmage IMO.

How does a piece of material in the effluent change the skimming efficiency? It may cause an increase in nitrates if not kept clean.

It some how effects the air flow. I've tried also and it does cut down on skimming.
There is a pre filter box that's sold for it that cuts down on the bubbles. The company also claims it increases skimming results by something like 20%. It's bulky but it works.

I was not impressed with the filter box that you can buy. I used it and did not see much of an increase or a reduction of bubbles. I did see a large black box addition to the inside of my tank though! I gave up after a week of using it. I was not impressed. Maybe I was doing something wrong idk.

I would just give it some time. Mine did this when I first got it, and eventually stopped

I couldn't keep the box adjusted. So I added a sump and put the skimmer on it. Still don't understand how a filter on the effluent has anything to do with a process that completely takes place prior to it.

I put a little block of sponge/floss from my fluval right in the return side (right) of my Remora. It sits just below the return outlet. Works awesome and has no effect on the water level, and therefore no effect on the skimming. Just gotta wash it once in a while.

Yeah, the box is bulky but I have no bubbles at all. Plus it hides the giant unsightly mag drive pump. I don't have a sump, if I did I would definitely put the skimmer in there.
