It depends on your stand. I had a 125 with a 55 gallon sump. I have seen 125's with a 125 gallon sump. I now have a 29 gallon sump on my 120, at that is as small as I would go for a 125. Your best bet is a 55 or 75, just make sure it will fit under the stand.

The little cut-out in the top left corner will cost a lot more money. Why not just make it 32X18X15. I know glasscages.com makes custom acrylic sumps with the baffles how you want them. This would be only 37 gallons. Are you sure you can't make it 18'' wide and 36'' long? Then you could get like a 45 gallon, two inches higher at 17'' would mean a 50 gallon. But one just like that would probably hold a little less than 40 like 38 gallons.

Check out my gallery for my sump. 30 gallon rubbermaid with 2 bucket bubble baffles. was cheap, hold a lot of water and easy to make. Has worked well for me. it holds my skimmer, live rock, heater, etc.
