Like an auto dosing or just a flip the pump on yourself doseing?

First off, what are you having problems with? You have a 100g tank which has more needs than a smaller, but where is the deficiency?

I'd run it like an ATO - auto top off. You have a small 'lift pump' azoo makes a few, and have your kalkwasser solution premixed and when you switch or plug in the pump it lifts the solution up some airline tubing into the tank / sump / fuge what have you.

BTW, do you have a sump? I think most people reccommend not to dose in the main tank.

Why do you want to dose something that you do not know what it is for? Depending on what you have in the tank, regular water changes will be sufficient to keep your trace elements in order.

Everything you need to know about kalkwasser:
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-01/rhf/index.php

Essentially, if your pH runs a little low and you are keeping any stony corals, then it is a great thing to dose. It helps to maintain your calcium and alkalinity levels. Adding too much is a bad thing. Having an auto topoff system that is accurate and reliable is a must if you are going to dose as topoff. You can use a peristaltic pump to dose (like a litermeter), or you can use a high-quality topoff setup (like the Tunze Osmolator) to push pure water through a kalk reactor.

I am wondering on how much hours do you spend on your tank?, is there a diference on a fish only tank and a reef tank on hours spend?

I dont have much time because I work no less that 10 hours a day and most days I work 12-14 hours, so I dont want to be unresponsable and dont have enogh time to do this.

BTY thanks for the explenations, the main thing is that I need to make my tank as much "automated" as possible.

Here is my DIY kalk reactor:

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...hreadid=888146

My tank is fairly automated. Maybe spend between 2 and 10 minutes/day feeding and doing maintenance. I could cut down the daily time spent even further if I had a dosing system for 2-part.

Something tells me your tank is established and has balanced out with its age. New tanks are much more time consuming. IMO you are always adjusting something, testing, changing water or worring about alge or what to stock it with. Then you need to go to the lfs or search online to buy things to make the tank just exactly how you want it. A new tank is very time consuming, physically and mentally.
