fewer fish, less food, more frequent water changes with clean water, and, last but not least, good ol' elbow grease.

Fish selection . Water quality . Flow. Amount of time lights on. Cleanup crew. Whats your water readings? And in new tanks algea blooms are normal. How old is system?

i ahave had the system up for about 8 months and i started gathering the parts for my 55 gallon which will probably go up next week. I probably have too many fish in my nano. I have 3 fish in my 12 gallon aquapod Will the bigger tank help fix this problem?

Well you need some omnivores to help control. If you can just take rock out and chip off algea and razorblade anyglass with it.

r u using RODI that is often the source of the problem

Take all ur LR and give em a good ol scrubbin with a Brush, dip them in Old, WaterChange water to remove any spores, and reintroduce them into the tank.

Do you have an appropriate Clean Up Crew

And if your not using RODi, it would be a good time to switch, I go to my Local Grocery Store, and its 10cents a Gallon. I fill up

yeah i buy ro/di water from my fish store that is already mixed to saltwater for a dollar a gallon. And yes I have 3 blue leg hermit crabs and 2 turbo snails in my 12 gallon tank. How many inverts will i need for my 55 gallon?

I personally wouldn't trust the store bought water to be ideal RO/DI. I would have them test the TDS of the fresh water and then you'll know. Ideally you should get a reading of 0 TDS. The other area to look into is your nitrates and phosphates. Do you know what these are testing?
