condy and shrimp
hello guys, ive been having a problem keeping shrimps, i had 2 peps and a cleaner for about 2 weeks, i went to LFS and found a condylactic anemone very cheap and said to myself ill give it a shot, anyways, since i put the anemone in my tank, my shrimp have been dying, first a cleaner shrimp wich i found under a rock, went to store and replaced it, then 2 days later i found a pep dead, the yesterday the new cleaner shrimp, found him lying on his back and anemone got a hold on antena and started to drag him, i went a got something to pry him out and save the shrimp but this morning i found him dead, so i did what anyone of you would have done, i fed it to the anemone, tell you what it was hungry, the shrimp always hanged out near the anemone, what do you guys think, should i separate the anemone and get another shrimp or could it be some parameter, heres a photo btw, thanks

Strange, my fire shrimp lives in an area pretty much identical to your picture, but I have an LTA. Not a single problem yet. In fact, the shrimp will push the LTA out of the way when racing for food.

It's possible, but I've never really read of any other situation where that has happened. I've had an anemone and a couple shrimp in my aquarium and have had no problems.

Condylactus anemone's are known very well for consuming prized fish. It doesn't surprise me at all if it is killing your shrimp. That's why the condy's are probably so cheap.
