Sugar/Vodka..what about this?

I know some use sugar or vodka to reduce nitrates..what about adding a bacterial additive such as 'Cycle' or 'Stability' to the water, particularly after a waterchange? Wouldn't that give the bacterial filter a boost? Or would it compound the problem?

MMM

While I don't think this is a great subject for a newbie forum let me ask you a couple questions ... when you provide a food source for something what do you think happens when you stop providing that food source? Also do you think that high nitrates are the result of a deficiency in anoxic bateria or an excess of decomposing crud within a tank.
