Phosban Reactor

Do you use a phosban reactor? If so, how much gph are you running through it? Do you use 150g (whole can of phosban) or half of the can?

I bought a maxijet 400 at 106 gph (smallest one). Do you know how you can lower the flow rate into the reactor?

Thanks.

you need this ball valve to put on the pipe that go into the reactor from the pump and you can adjust the flow

Mini-Jet MN404 lowest setting is 18gph and I found this to be too slow with the backpressure caused by the return tubing. This is the smallest pump that the Maxi-Jet line produces.

Do not use the recomended amount if first starting out. You will want to cut that in half at least to not shock the system.

I use the TLF 150 with a mini-jet 606. 90 gallon tank, I use less GFO and change it more frequently. I use about 60 grams of GFO and change it about once a month. I am running the 606 wide open. I dont care what the flow rating is on the pump, I measured actual flow through the reactor and it is well within the recommended specs for flow rate. The media just boils at it's surface, it doesn't tumble all throughout the chamber.

I think I have too much flow. I have mine hooked up to a MJ1200 but closed off more than halfway at the valve. I tuned it for the top inch of the media to move around, I have about half the unit filled with carbon and about 1/4 cup of Phosban on my 79G. Is that too much?
