T5 Supplement

I just picked up four 250w Hamilton Reefstar Pendants. I am going to be hanging two of them above a 100g tank that is 60" long and 20" deep. Currently they have 14k bulbs that are only 3 months old. I will probably move over to 10k in 6 months when these bulbs have run thier life. Anyway, my question is about supplementation. I was planning on picking up 2 54w T5s with Icecap ballasts and SLR reflectors for supplementation. Will this be enough? Also, do I want to pick up the True ACtinic 03s, the Super ACtinics or one of each?? Thanks for all your help everyone

Any of the actinic lamps would be fine. I prefer the Super Act.

If I'm not mistaken, the terms Super Actinic, Pure actinic and actinic 03 all refer to the 420 nm lamps. The highest par of those is the UVL Super actinic. What you probably want to do is go with a Super Actinic and a Blue Plus (ATI). The Super Actnic is the purple 420 NM, the ATI Blue + is a blue bulb, somewhere in the 460 nm range but the highest par of the very blue bulbs. Atleast thats probably what most people do ... a 1:1 ratio of pure / super actinic and blue T5's to supplement the halides. Unless you go with a blue halide in which case maybe a whiter T5 in combination with the Super Actnic could be preferable, depending on how blue you want it. Plus you can up the par a little bit as the whiter T5's generally are higher par lamps.

I am running Reeflux 10000K's which are a crisp white for the most part along with two UVL Super Actinic T5's and two ATI Blue + T5's.
