HOB - 1 Lifereef double better than 2 singles?

I already have a single and am wondering how to move forward. I need around 1200 gph flow and the single only gives 700gph.

I would think they would be the same, but make sure you have enough water flow to keep both tubes flowing well, that is what keeps the bubbles from forming!

Try throwing another utube in it and see what happens. I bet it can do more than 700gph. Quite a bit more. I saw a guy who had the double with 4 utubes and he was pulling well over 2000gph down it.

You could always enlarge the return pipe....that would increase its flow abilities for sure.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try putting a 2nd u-tube in my single and enlarging the drain pipe. I'll let you know how it goes...
