any aqua medic turboflotor skimmer users?

what are the flow control taps used for? when i point them to the skimmer side i get allot of water rising up in the cup, but when i point it to the flow side i get little skimming.

is there a good setting to it?

i herd that skiing more is beneficial or better, so should i leave the flow controls towards the skimmer side, and let it skim more?

those knobs do exactly what you think/are doing .. they control the foam lvl in the skimmer.. as where is a good lvl for the foam.. that all depends on what consistency of skimate you like.. when i had mine up and running i think i had it like 1/'' up from where the cup sit on top of the skimmer...

you 'skim' more DOC's out of the water colum if you skim wet as oppose to skimming dry.. you just have to add more water and check yo salinity more ...
