Xenia frag?
I have a healthy cluster of pulsing xenia. However, went on vacation and came home to problems. Out of 6 stalks of pulsing xenia 1 of the stalks appears deflated and dead. I also have an torch coral that seems to have one of its head with its tentacles hanging from the branch and I can see the white part of the coral. I checked the parms. and the sp. grav. was 1.30 . We did a water change and brought the parms. back in order. Would the sp. grav. be the cause of all these problems? Should I frag. off the bad stalk from the healthy cluster of xenias? Should this be done in tank or should I take it out and frag? This will be my first time fragging. Lastly, will the bad head on the torch affect the other heads? Thanks.

Put the xenia in a bowl of your saltwater and cut the dead off, my torch coral has dropped frags on the sand, I would leave it alone and see what it does.

Here's a pretty good article on Xenias..
http://www.centralpets.com/animals/f...s/swi1738.html But they're very hardy so you can frag them (by scraping the foot off the rock with a single edged blade) pretty easily. Good luck.
