Question - Equipment and Ich

I recently purchased a used skimmer ASM G2 (in sump) that may have come from a tank that had ich. If I submerge the whole skimmer in fresh water will this kill off any life stages of ich that might be present? If so how long would I need to soak it, or would it be best to just let it completely dry after a good cleaning. I also got a few frags (zoas and milli) from the same tank. If I understand the ich life cycle correctly there could be "encrusted" ich in the reproduction stage attached to these pieces of coral. I also believe that "fresh" water will kill this stage of ich. So the question is, how long would this stage of ich need to be exposed to fresh water to die and would a fresh water dip for these corals do the trick or is it best to just keep them QT'd for 4-6 weeks to be safe?

qt is sure way on corals at least four to six , fw dip really does no good . copper, and no host kills ick. skimmer iwould just clean it up and let it dry for a day should be fine.don't treat corals with cooper . you probably knew that but just saying.
