Hi topdog,

No need to add these as the water will not contain chlorine or ammonia if it is a good grade. Amquel is mainly used as an emergency aid if ammonia suddenly appears in a tank, a pretty rare occurrence unless something dies.

Are you dosing a calcium additive? If so stop and let the level fall. Also you might get a second person to test your level if you are not dosing as the test results may be in error.

This must be a new tank? What kind of test kit are you using?
