Is there a single person who has kept different breeds of clowns in the same tank????

Yeah, I know you cant mix different clowns. But I am wondering is there a single person who has done it and has no problems at all. I would like to see some pics. Thanks

My dad had a pink skunk and a cinnamon clown together in his 65. They actually somewhat paired up and were best buds. Unfortunately the skunk jumped about 3 weeks.

Hello,

yes in a 660g tank I have a pair of occelaris and a single premnas.
But they where put in the tank before I took over the care of it.
In large tanks more than one pair can work; in smaller ones it is a lottery.

regards

Markus

Could 2 pairs be done in a 120 if what they host in were placed on opposite sides of the tank?

A friend of mine kept a Sebae and a Black Occelaris in a 75 and they were fine. I've also seen a true Perc pair and a single Maroon in a 240. I've also seen disasters too. It's a lottery like said above

I have a maroon clown and a pair of true Percs and have no trouble between them. I had a seabe clown but the maroon killed it.

I have a very shy maroon and a very outgoing skunk in a 75. I have 2 BTA and the skunk "owns" both. The maroon was in first but has always been shy. they both share the tank without any hassle but I think I have a very rare maroon as they are known to be aggressive.

you can't really "place" the on opposite sides of the tank though can you? They'd do whatever they want unless there is a physical seperator like egg crate.

Yeah...not willingly though and I wouldn't recommend it.
I have a full sized female Maroon (owns the tank, has no fear and has been in a "mood" since her mate died a year ago) and a perc (which I got when my best friend was tearing down his tank while moving out of state)...Thank god the perc is smart enough to stay in the far end of the tank.

In my 150 gallon tank that is 6' feet long I keep a pair of maroon clowns and a pair of percs. They get along fine. If the female maroon comes down to the percs side of the tank she is very civil but if the little percs wander down to the maroons side she chasses them away without hurting them.

it really depends on the two diferent prs. there are some clown types that are more agressive ie.. tomato and maroon ( not all of them) that arent nice to any types of fish.

Well I'm not single anymore, but I have kept two species of clowns in the same tank with good results.

My female tomato clown and male True percula didn't fight once. They weren't really buds but didn't mind each other.

That video was taken awhile back. I no longer have the percula but the tomato is in my 37 gallon tank. That video/picture was taken in a 10 gallon and I needed a place to put the fish for the day until I could finish upgrading from a 36 bow front to a 75.

That would be pretty sweet. Kind of odd you can mix damsels and yet they dont cause as much conflict as clowns...

A friend has 4 onyx percs and two clarkii clowns in a 75, and they don't seem to mind eachother.

A fellow iowan has, I believe, three more more types of clowns in a 300 gallon table tank. No troubles, as far as I know.

I had an Sebae and a clarki together in a ten gallon tank once, they live very happily together for over 2.5 years. Until one day I went out for three days on business and someone decided to do the tank a favour and turned of the filters with the lights before going to bed.
