Remove hair algea before adding reactor?

Should I remove the hair algea before I start up the Phos reactor?

The phosphate is in the water. I would just go ahead and get out as much HA as you can and get the reactor set up. Doesnt matter in which order. If you really want to give yourself the best chance of getting rid of it quickly, you could take out each piece of rock with HA on it and gently srub them clean in fresh bucket of salt water. If you can get it all off of the rock and out of the water it may not come back. It's a chore that many people dont want to undertake.
