Tankmates (Photos!)

Here are a few pics that I have taken in passing of my tank. Please forgive the hair algae...

This kenya tree has more than doubled in size since I put it in my tank 2 months ago

These guys make it all work!

My newest addition!

My oldest tankmate, I have had him around 9 months.

I too love the clown. Would be great with another I agree. I love how clean your sand looks in the pic with the crab. What kind of sand is that?

After reading about the argument for and against argonite sand and silica sand I descided to go with something that didnt have either. At Toys'R'Us they carry a white play sand that is supposed to be silica free and is also supposed to be rounded so that it doesnt have sharp edges. My goby loves it since it is all the same size and wont cut his gills like some sand could. The only bad thing about it is that it over exposes in pictures because it is so white.

Do you know what it's made from? What's the grain size?

your livestock looks pretty good! I hope that the clown doesnt get too territorial.. my GSM is a terror to anything smaller than her... no matter how long they were in the tank beforehand.

Your kenya tree looks different than mine.

And uh....that's a beautiful clownfish, but definitely not yours. It's my avatar on about three different forums and has been for over a year.

I just looked through 10 pages of results at images.google.com and did not see the same image. Maybe you should take a closer look? Or post evidence to back up your claim. Otherwise, your accusation is just as rude as if the OP had stolen an image.

I can upload the full picture if you dont believe it is mine. Its around 8 megs though. I took that picture with my Rebel XT. If you will also look at my gallery you will see that those photos are from my gallery. I also have pics of the flukes that my maroon clown had shortly after I purchased him.

You are correct. But most likely the quartz that they use is fused quartz which is a non crystaline form. I dont know that for sure, but I do know that they do not have to have the silica disclamer on their bags for some reason.

The reason regular sand has a silica disclamer is because of silicosis, which is caused from the inhilation of silica dust. I have also not had any of the diatom outbreaks that others have had that used regular silica sand. I have no scientific evidence to show that their sand doesnt release silica besides that they do not have the silica health disclamer.
