Super skimmer ???

I just bought a super skimmer from a guy who was using it for about 6 months. I dont know a whole lot about them, and I cant keep the needle wheel adj all the way on or it will over flow. Also I get a ton of micro bubbles going into my tank, the little box with the media doesnt do a thing. I this normal, will it stop??

Im unsure when the water adjustment is open, should the big dot be closer to you or away.

Also do I need to break it in?? It says to keep the water level even with the cup during break in, and adjust bubbles a little higher. When I keep the water level even with the cup I dont get any bubbles?

Micro bubbles were a constant problem with mine too. The ball valve adjustment is up to your personal skimming tastes. If you want wet skim have the water line higher if you want it dryer have the water line lower. If you are having bubble production issues I added a stand to raise the pump higher also check the venturi line to make sure it isn't clogged.
