ich question

I had a fish show up with ich so I pulled all of them except one. I can't catch him , a green chromis. The tank is a 125 so will leaving the tank fallow work , with the exception of the little guy or does he really need to go out?

If it's a FO tank then you can medicate or use copper. After it's cured, you should do a water change and run activated charcoal to remove any chemicals IMO. Non infected fish can stay in with the copper treated water.

I would say that all of the fish need to be removed. Have you thought about trying one of those traps to catch him. I wouldn't use copper or meds in the tank at all. Even if it is a fish only tank. That's just because whatever you have in it will be contaminated.

I have read the article before and it is worthwhile to take time to do so. I have pulled all fish but the one and was just wondering if I was wasting my time if I did not get him out. 125 lbs of lr is a job to tear down with coral and inverts to deal with as well. FWIW the fish that started this outbreak was a powder blue tang that had been in qt for a month with no sign . So for anybody out there that would like to keep a powder blue , hippo , or really any tang for that matter know what you are buying and qt for sure some tangs are famous for this and DON'T THINK THAT YOU CAN MANAGE TO KEEP ONE WITHOUT PROPER CARE. I am always on top of my fish and he still came down with it.

you must remove all fish in order for the tank to rid all ich. just 1 fish in the tank and the ich will survive, maybe in smaller numbers but as soon as you put the others back in they will come back. so unless you get all fish out your wasting your time IMO
