Quarantine questions
My friend got a couple butterfly fish from a reputable online dealer and got a full blown case of Ich. (No Quarantine, Nuff Said!)Took out his Hippo Tang and one of the Butterflys. He has 3 clowns, and one Butterfly left, plus some snails and crabs. I'm gonna set his tank up as a quarantine tank, removing the sand and rock, and use Hypo to control Ich. His tank has only been set up for a couple months, so it shouldn't be a problem. I'll wash the sand and cook the rocks. Since we're gonna do this for 6 weeks, he can have a display and control the Ich.
Questions: Gonna lose Biological filtration. Any suggestions. Crabs and snails? set up a small tank for them? Can they bring Ich back into the tank? If I use copper, can I clean up the tank, skimmer, powerheads after it's all done? Any help or suggestions are well appreciated.
