New setup and a question...

Thanks for looking at this thread.
I am doing my plumbing test with my new bulkhead, I was using a DIY overflow that was working really great but after hearing 1 too many horror stories on here I opted to get the tank drilled.

Here is the problem, when I turn on the pump the water level rises and the water starts to go out of the bulkhead, but there is a nasty air bubble that reduces the water flow by at least 50%, untill it clears the tank would flood. What can be done to get rid of this bubble so if the power goes out I dont end up with a disaster.

Here is a pic of said bubble

And another

If I turn off the power to the return pump and give bulkhead 15-20 seconds to catch up it then manages to clear the bubble and then my second problem begins. The slurping as it pulls air from the water surface. What can be done about the slurping noise?

While I am at it I thought I might as well post a full view of my tank and sump. Any criticisms / suggestions are welcome, I plan to have the RO/DI water start going in later today but I dont want to run it full steam with the previous problems.

The full tank (only one door on the stand to allow the sump easy in and out for now.)

And the sump

thanks in advance.

durso pipe or possible using an airline tubing and sucking the air bubbles out. also they should disipaite if they arent being replenished

The air bubble does indeed disapate, but the amount of time it takes is enough for the water to overflow the top of the tank.
