Salt Water Making Container

The container that i make the salt water in for my reef tank and mantis tank has this weird brown slime in it and on the lid of the container. Is this something that i should worry about, or should i just go along and continue making the water? Also, i don't know how long this has been in the container...sorry.

If I were you, I would disinfect the container with a bleach/water mixture and let it air dry. If it is growing inside your water container, then chances are you are adding it to your tanks.
