frozen cubes of any kind need to be thoroughly rinsed before adding to the tank--they usually contain ammonia, nitrates etc from kill in preparing them.
I bought a small brine shrimp net and rinse them with r/o water.

I might start with 1/3 cube of frozen Formula 1 per day, and see how that goes. Personally, I don't rinse frozen foods. I suspect rinsing is pretty much the same as throwing part of the food down the drain, at best. It might also remove water-soluble nutrients, etc.

For what my limited experience is worth, I do something in the middle of these suggestions. I have two fish (a clown and a firefish). I feed frozen mysis shrimp every other day and I put half a cube into a fish net for about 15 minutes before I put it in the tank. This lets it melt and makes all the little shrimp bits easier for my fish to eat.

My lfs also suggested that the solution that the shrimp is frozen in could contain algae particles, and letting that water melt off gets rid of that. Not sure if that's true, but it sounds interesting, at least.

I never rinse the frozen food either. I defrost it in a little cup of tank water for about 2-3 minutes.
