Any one else think the C Journal was a complete waste of money?

I wanted a reef keeping magazine not a travel/food journal....

I have not read it, but have heard the same.

What a bummer, Calfos books have been a wealth of information.

I was excited when I heard about the magazine, then I found out what it was going to entail and then I bought one... then I bought another....

oh well, it wasn't like I lost coral over it

I'd rather watch No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain

I think the mag is alright. Has some really nice photos. Though I do wish it had more reef keeping info and think it is over priced.

the journals "life statement" written right on the cover says...

C The Journal of Aquatic Science, travel and adventure...

Why did you think it was going to be something other than what it states?

I personally really like the magazine. I like how he talks about science and then in another article talks about scuba diving or visiting another country.

To each his own I suppose. I personally hope he sticks with it.

And there aren't many "saltwater based" magazines out there.

CORAL, & Marine World Magazine

I have CORAL, haven't picked up MWM only because of the cash flow.

I say read them all, take what you can from each and form your own theories, opinions and ideas.

Was it marketed/advertised as a reef keeping magazine?

Can't say for sure. More than likely though.

It does touch on alot of reef keeping things.

People just like to bash.

I don't see it as bashing, more like expressing an opinion.

but you guys are "expressing your opinion" in a negative way because it's not 100% about reef keep when the cover clearly says,

aquatic science, travel and adventure.

I'm just confused as to what you guys thought it was going to be about?

I think Anthony's writing (at least in C The Journal) is a very refreshing, full of life & energy style of writing.

I haven't read anything else by him, I plan on picking up The Book On Coral Propagation when the new edition comes out.

I'm not particurarly fond of his writing either. He has a very smug attitude in my opinion and it seems to come out in his writing as well.
