Please ID this crab
This crab has hitchhiked in on something, and evidently by his size he has been here a while. It is probably a good 3 inches maybe bigger.
Here only good pic I could get. ![]() Is this a bad crab, and will it jack with my SPS or anything else??? |

i've had one of those in my tank. if you can get it out, all the better. it's not an emerald crab, but i can't say exactly what it is either. i saw mine about three months ago, but haven't spotted him since. no problems yet.

Kind of hard to tell by the pic but if it looks like this one:
![]() Then it is probably a gorilla crab and is best to remove if you can. I had a few come in with my TBS rock. I removed as many as I could and I still see a few small ones now and then. IME they are easier to catch as they get larger. I just put them in the fuge. HTH Jay

Looks like some sort of a Xanthid. Opportunistic feeder.
